Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Astros’ manager Dusty Baker told reporters on Monday that Yainer Diaz will serve as the team’s designated hitter for Game 3 of the ALDS against the Twins. There have been rumblings for Diaz to see time behind the dish — given Martin Maldonado’s limited profile offensively — but he’ll at least get to take his licks at the plate in Game 3. That will almost surely mean that Yordan Alvarez will cover left field which would push Michael Brantley to the bench for the Astros.
Minnesota Twins DFS SPIN
Carlos Correa went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and a walk on Sunday night, leading the Twins to a 6-2 victory over the Astros in Game 2 of the ALDS. Correa got the scoring started against his former squad with a run-scoring double off of Framber Valdez in the opening inning. He then increased that advantage with a two-run single into center in the fifth inning that made it a 5-0 ballgame. The 29-year-old shortstop also smacked a one-out double in the seventh inning, but he was cut down at the plate attempting to score. With his three RBI, he surpassed Derek Jeter and David Ortiz to move into fourth place on the all-time MLB postseason leaderboard for RBI with 63. He has been sizzling this postseason, going 8-for-15 (.533) with three doubles and four RBI through his first four games.
