Astros’ World Series odds improve
HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – After acquiring pitcher Scott Kazmir on Thursday, the Astros’ odds to win the 2015 World Series have improved.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Astros’ odds to win the World Series are currently 14/1. Those odds were 18/1 before Houston acquired Kazmir for minor league prospects Jacob Nottingham and Daniel Mengden on Thursday.
Kazmir had a 2.38 ERA, a 1.085 WHIP and a 101/35 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 109 2/3 innings for Oakland this year. He’ll form a solid 1-2 punch with Dallas Keuchel in Houston’s rotation and try to help the Astros make the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
