Realmuto helps send Marlins to win
After dropping the series opener 9-2, Miami rebounded by doubling up the Braves Friday night with a 6-3 victory. JT Realmuto went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs from the leadoff spot. Starlin Castro added a two-run home, which extended the lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the fifth. Derek Dietrich also contributed by going 3-for-4 with a run. Dan Straily picked up the win as he gave up three runs (two earned) on three hits with five strikeouts and three walks over five innings. Brad Ziegler picked up his fifth save.
The Marlins will be going with left Jarlin Garcia (1-1, 2.68 ERA), who had the first poor start of his season the last time out as he surrendered seven earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks over four innings in a 14-2 loss at the Cubs. He gave up three home runs.
Albies goes deep again
After a big Thursday night game that included his first career grand slam, Ozzie Albies had another good night at the plate for the Braves Friday as he connected on his 12th home run of the season and scored twice as he also drew a walk. He is now hitting .284 for the season and slugging at an absurd .599 clip. Albies hit .286 in 57 games after making his MLB debut last season and slugged .456, hitting six home runs to go with nine doubles and five triples.
Mike Soroka will be making his third career MLB start as the top prospect is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA through his first two starts. He lasted four earned runs on seven hits over four innings in his last start, a 4-3 home loss against the Giants. Soroka struck out three and walked three.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 8-1 in their last nine road games. The over is 10-4-1 in the last 15 Atlanta games on Saturday.
Miami
The over is 8-3 in the last 11 Miami games on Saturday. The over is 35-16-3 in the last 54 meetings.
Prediction:
Atlanta is the better team here and Soroka is talented enough to mow down the Marlins order even on the road. Garcia had been outstanding prior to his last start and should be better tonight, but I just can’t see him getting enough support from the Miami offense.
