Perez has big night in win
Brewers third baseman Hernan Perez led the way to a 7-2 victory over the Braves last night as he went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two runs and two RBIs. Jonathan Villar finished 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Christian Yelich was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI. Tyler Saladino was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Jhoulys Chacin earned the win as he allowed two earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and one walk over seven innings. Dan Jennings picked up his first save of the season as he threw two perfect innings with two strikeouts.
Albies highlights losing effort
Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies had an RBI triple to help his squad take a 2-0 lead in the first inning, while he later added a double in four at-bats. Ender Inciarte had the only other hit for Atlanta in the contest as he was 1-for-3 with a run. Max Fried suffered the loss as he gave up four earned runs on four hits with one strikeout and three walks over three innings.
Mike Foltynewicz (6-4, 2.02 ERA) will start today for Atlanta, while Milwaukee counters with Freddy Peralta (3-1, 2.28).
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 26-20 in road games this season. Atlanta is 35-24 against right-handed starters this year.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 43-26 against right-handed starters this season. Milwaukee is 25-15 on Fridays the last two seasons.
Prediction:
Peralta showed a few cracks in the armor his last start at the Reds and now he faces a Braves offense that has slumped a bit lately, yet is good enough to heat up in a moment’s notice. With Foltynewicz on the mound, the Braves shouldn’t need to score a whole lot. I like Atlanta to grab the early lead and ride its talented young starter plus the bullpen the rest of the way.
