Baltimore lost by a count of 4-3 Thursday at Texas to drop to 19-43 overall and 11-20 on the road. Trey Mancini led the offense in the defeat as he finished 3-for-4 with a solo home run. Hanser Alberto ended the contest 2-for-4 and scored a run. Chris Davis was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI, but also made a crucial error. David Hess suffered the loss as he surrendered four runs (three earned) on eight hits over six innings, striking out two and walking one. Gabriel Ynoa will start for the Orioles tonight as he enters with an 0-2 record, 5.06 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over 26 2/3 innings.
Astros win in 14 innings
Houston completed its series at Seattle Thursday with an 8-7 victory in 14 innings. Yuli Gurriel provided the go-ahead RBI in the 14th on an RBI sacrifice fly that scored Myles Straw. Gurriel ended the game 1-for-6 with a run and two RBIs. Robinson Chirinos went 1-for-3 with a home run, four walks, three runs and two RBIs. Alex Bregman was 3-for-6 with a solo home run. Derek Fisher finished 2-for-6 and scored a run. Chris Devenski picked up the win in relief as he struck out four and walked three while giving up no hits in two scoreless frames. Gerrit Cole will start tonight for the Astros as he comes in with a 5-5 record, 3.94 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with 116 strikeouts over 77 2/3 innings.

Prediction:
I don’t even know what to say here. You can’t predict baseball, which was evident when Miami steamrolled host Milwaukee a couple times this week. But this is a pretty lopsided matchup. Houston has been outstanding at home and Cole has only been hurt this season by some bad luck, which includes a higher than usual home run rate. I think he has his focus here and shuts down the O’s while getting plenty of run support. Go with the favorites and take the runline for more value.
