Matt Chapman went 1-for-3 with one run scored and a stolen base in a win against the Red Sox on Saturday. Things got interesting in the third inning when Matt Chapman singled off Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford in the top of the third inning. Santiago Espinal promptly singled to right center allowing Chapman to scamper home to tie the game at one run a piece. The 29-year-old would later pick up his first swipe of the year in the top of the ninth of Ryan Braiser. While his overall stat line isn’t great to look at, he has been hitting .267/.327/.534 with ten homers and one stolen base since June.
Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Bobby Dalbec went 2-for-4 and homered Saturday as the Red Sox lost the Blue Jays 4-1 on Saturday. Dalbec put the first run on the board when he demolished a hanging slider from Alek Manoah 391 feet over the Green Monster. The homer gave the Red Sox a 1-0 lead but was quickly erased in the top of the third by the pesky Blue Jays lineup. Dalbec hasn’t gotten much playing time as of late and was only in the game after J.D. Martinez needed a breather and Rafael Devers landed on the injured list.
