Vladimir Guerrero Jr. received two stitches in his finger after Wednesday’s victory over the Yankees. The superstar slugger had his hand stepped on by Aaron Hicks during a play at first base. At that point, Guerrero had come to the dish once and belted a home run off of Gerrit Cole. He refused to come out of the game, had the finger taped up and proceeded to slug another pair of home runs and a double over the remainder of the game. While he said there’s some discomfort, it doesn’t sound like the injury will affect his ability to mash the baseball.

Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 and hit his first homer of the year Wednesday versus the Blue Jays. Judge got on the board with a solo homer off Jose Berrios in the fifth. It was the second of back-to-back homers for the Yankees, as Anthony Rizzo went deep previously in the fifth. Judge is 7-for-24 through six games.
