Atlanta Braves DFS SPIN
Ozzie Albies hit his 25th homer and walked Saturday against the Cubs. We’re exactly two-thirds of the way through the Braves’ season, so Albies needs to pick up the pace a tad to get to 40 homers. Still, even 35 is an impressive total for a second baseman; only 19 (min. 50% of games) have done that before. Alas, the Braves’ record is probably out of reach; Davey Johnson holds that and the NL record with 43 homers in 1973. It was only overtaken as the major league record when Marcus Semien hit 45 in 2021.
Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Jeimer Candelario homered and doubled Saturday as the Cubs defeated the Braves 8-6. The homer was his first since he was acquired from the Nationals, but it was his second career homer for the Cubs; he had one in 2017 before being traded to the Tigers that summer. Candelario is off to a great start since the deal, going 11-for-18 with three doubles and two walks in five games. His season OPS is .859, which is just a little better than last year’s .633 mark in Detroit

Braves vs. Cubs MLB BETTING PREDICTION
Morton is 10-9 on the season with a 3.62 ERA but is looking to halt a three-start losing streak. It could be difficult, as he’s 4-6 with a 5.03 ERA in 17 career starts against the Cubs. On the other side, Steele is 12-3 with a 2.65 ERA and will make his second career start against the Braves. He extended his winning streak to three games despite allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits in six innings of a 20-9 crushing of the Reds on Tuesday. Despite what should be a good pitching matchup, I’m going to take the over. The Braves can hang six on the board at any given time and if Morton’s issues continue, then this one should cash the over today at Wrigley.
