Olson surprisingly failed to go yard in the Coors air against Colorado, but he may have a bit more momentum to take a few bases this weekend. Olson signed with his hometown team on the heels of their World Series victory, and he’ll now face off with the man he replaced, who’s in the midst of a career season. Olson and Freddie Freeman will be tied together for the foreseeable future, and the pressure of leading ATL to another pennant will lie there as well. Olson was on a tear last month, and he’s found success on this current west coast trip, collecting a hit in all seven of them, while totaling multiple bases in four of them. Olson leads the NL in home runs (43), while leading Atlanta in RBI (112), and batting .271.
Los Angeles Dodgers DFS SPIN
Freddie Freeman went 2-4, with a double and a home run in the game three win over the Diamondbacks. Just as Mookie had his return to Boston last weekend, Freeman will receive a spot against his former club here. The 7x All Star performed well against his former squad back in May, collecting a hit in all three matchups, and I believe we could be in for more of the same here in LA. Freeman’s been one of the most consistent players in league this season, and that production has flown thru August, as he’s recorded a hit in nine of the previous eleven games, while totaling multiple bases in six of his last eight. Freeman is among NL leaders in batting (.338), while leading LAD in hits (178), and RBI (89), with 25 home runs.

This series will be must-see baseball this weekend, and as appealing as the Dodgers will be as home underdogs, if there’s any game for the Braves to take it may be this contest. Spencer Strider has been in peak form, and while this will be quite the test in LA, he’ll have his bats behind him, who get to face off with Lance Lynn. Big Lance has come alive with the Dodgers, but the matchup in Boston last week showed some of those old tendencies that the Braves will be able to take advantage of. There will be a playoff atmosphere at Dodger Stadium this weekend, and I like backing the Braves to take game one on Friday night.
