The 25-year-old superstar jumped on a 3-0 fastball from Emmet Sheehan in the third inning and smoked it at 121.2 mph — making it the hardest hit ball in all of Major League Baseball this season, by a considerable amount. It traveled an estimated 454 feet to center field and gave the Braves an early 1-0 edge. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the day.
