Willy Adames singled, stole a base and scored a pair of runs on Sunday, propelling the Brewers to a 2-1 win over the Pirates in the low-scoring finale of a three-game set at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Adames singled, stole second base — his fourth theft of the season — and scored on an RBI single from ensuing batter Eduardo Escobar. He also walked and scored on an RBI double from Christian Yelich in the third inning. The 25-year-old shortstop has morphed into an offensive force in Milwaukee, hitting .298 (82-for-276) with 49 runs scored, 16 home runs, 48 RBI and four steals since his arrival on May 22.

Nolan Arenado went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Sunday, leading the Cardinals to a three-game sweep of the Royals with a 7-2 victory in the series finale at Kauffman Stadium. Arenado kicked off the scoring by dunking an RBI single into shallow right field off lefty Kris Bubic in the opening frame. He also crushed a two-run homer to left field off the southpaw in the ensuing frame. It was his 25th big fly of the season. The 30-year-old third baseman has gone deep eight times across 26 games since the All-Star break.
