Milwaukee Brewers DFS SPIN
Adrian Houser struggled in a losing effort against the Athletics on Friday night, surrendering five runs on six hits over his four-plus innings of work. The right-hander also issued four free passes on the night while striking out four. The A’s jumped on him early in this one — striking for three runs in the opening inning on a two-run triple by Ramon Laureano and an RBI single by Jonah Bride. They tacked on another run in the second inning, then Houser exited after allowing the first two hitters to reach in the fifth — and one of those inherited runners scored as well. The 30-year-old hurler has struggled for the most part this season, compiling a 4.33 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 23/11 K/BB ratio over his first 35 1/3 innings. He’ll look to right the ship when he does battle against the Pirates at home on Friday.
New York Mets DFS SPIN
MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo says several industry sources have told him that Max Scherzer is open to waiving his no-trade clause in pursuit of a championship. The Mets aren’t necessarily out of the championship hunt yet, but they’ll need to get hot in July in order to have a shot. If that doesn’t happen, a Scherzer trade could be explored. Of course, there’s nothing from Scherzer directly here that says he’s looking to exit. The soon-to-be 39-year-old right-hander is currently halfway through his three-year, $130 million contract, so he’d come with huge luxury tax ramifications for a number of contenders.
