Tonight’s pitching matchup has Onelki Garcia (0-0, 7.94 ERA) on the mound for the White Sox to face Kyle Gibson (8-10, 5.59) of the Twins. Gibson has struggled most of the season, but his last two starts have seen him give up just three runs over 13.2 innings of work. Gibson has 90 strikeouts this season with 52 walks and a 1.65 WHIP. Garcia made his first start last week and gave up five runs over 5.2 innings in a 12-0 loss to the Indians. He had four walks with two strikeouts.

Kansas City opened the weekend series with a 7-6 win at Minnesota last night. The Royals have now won four of their last five against the Twins. KC is 66-67 overall and 30-35 on the road while Minnesota is now 70-64 overall and 34-36 at home.

The Royals managed a scoring outburst on Friday, something the team hasn’t seen in some time. Dillon Gee gave up five runs in just 2.2 innings of work for the Twins to take his second loss of the season. Jason Hammel wasn’t great, allowing four runs over 6.1 innings, but it was good enough to get his seventh win of 2017. Mike Moustakas connected on his 36th home run of the season to lead the Royals while Brandon Moss also homered for KC. Minnesota was led by Jorge Polanco, who homered and drove in three runs. Joe Mauer also had a pair of hits and two RBI.

Bet on Royals vs. Twins

Kansas City has had Minnesota’s number as of late, but the season trends say the Twins will bounce back. Gibson has been promising in recent starts and now gets to face a struggling Kansas City lineup. Gibson just needs to avoid Moustakas and he should be fine. Garcia didn’t show anything in his first start to make you believe he will be able to lock up Minnesota’s hitters. Look for the Twins to jump out quickly tonight.
