St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Nolan Arenado was scratched from the Cardinals’ lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Cubs due to neck stiffness. Arenado was a late scratch on Monday evening for precautionary reasons and it doesn’t sound like he’s dealing with a potentially serious issue. However, the Cardinals clearly don’t want to take any chances. He’ll presumably undergo some additional testing to rule out anything major and should be considered day-to-day for the moment. There should be some clarity on his status prior to Tuesday’s game at Wrigley Field.
Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Nico Hoerner was removed from Monday’s game against the Cardinals due to left hamstring tightness. The positive news is that Hoerner hasn’t been diagnosed with a hamstring strain, but he’ll presumably undergo some further testing and evaluation to rule it out. He suffered the injury while rounding second base on Dansby Swanson’s fifth-inning double during Monday night’s series opener against the Cardinals. There should be some clarity on his status prior to Tuesday’s game.
