Cardinals vs. Diamondbacks Prediction
The previously-hot Cardinals will take on the struggling Diamondbacks at 9:40 p.m. ET on Monday night when the two teams open a new series in Arizona. With the dumpster fire that has been Adam Wainwright this season, are the D-Backs a smart bet?

St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Nolan Gorman is not in the Cardinals’ starting lineup Sunday as he is dealing with back tightness. Cardinals manager Oli Marmol told reporters that Gorman’s injury will keep him out of the lineup for a couple of days but the 23-year-old is not expected to require a stint on the injured list. Taylor Motter is batting eighth and playing second base in his absence.
Arizona Diamondbacks DFS SPIN
Corbin Carroll went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Sunday against the Reds. The Diamondbacks rookie continues to pad an already impressive NL Rookie of the Year resume. Carroll is now hitting .284/.363/.550 on the season, and the home run was his 21st of the year. He’s simply a stud and a future first round pick in fantasy drafts.

Cardinals vs. Diamondbacks MLB BETTING PREDICTION
I realize the Diamondbacks have been swinging wet newspapers for the past month, but their offense should come alive tonight against Wainwright. The right-hander is coming off a phantom injury to make his first appearance since July 4. I say “phantom injury” because Wainwright kept telling the media in St. Louis that he was about to “go on a run” before they placed him on the IL with “shoulder irritation.” Given his 7.66 ERA this season, it was a way for the Cards to give the long-time veteran an opportunity to collect himself before attempting to get to just two more victories to reach 200 for his career. And hey, it’s been a great career. But he’s been terrible this season and he’ll be backed by a bullpen that is in shambles. Give me Arizona.
