St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
After throwing the game away Wednesday, Jordan Hicks came back with a perfect ninth for a save against the Marlins on Thursday. Hicks needed just eight pitches to retire Dane Myers, Nick Fortes and Luis Arraez for his sixth save. The Cardinals used the trio of Chris Stratton, Giovanny Gallegos and Hicks for the second straight day, and Hicks at least will be unavailable tomorrow. Maybe the Cardinals will let Stratton or Gallegos work for a third straight day. If not, Andre Pallante might be a threat to pick up a save.
Chicago White Sox DFS SPIN
Garrett Crochet (shoulder) allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings on Thursday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Charlotte. Crochet recorded four strikeouts, issued one walk, and also hit one batter, throwing 38 pitches (23 strikes) in his latest rehab outing. He’s been out since mid-June due to left shoulder inflammation and figures to return to Chicago’s relief mix after the All-Star break.
