White Sox get the upset
The Chicago White Sox earned a big 6-4 win over the Twins in Minnesota last night. The Sox are 56-68 on the season, 26-37 on the road and 62-57 with the under. Reynaldo Lopez is getting the start tonight. He is 7-10 on the year with a 5.29 ERA.
The Sox made the most of their scoring opportunities last night, plating their six runs on just eight hits. Jose Abreu had a three-run home run to lead the way, giving him 27 home runs and 92 RBI on the year. Ryan Goins added three hits, a RBI and scored two runs. Ivan Nova got his ninth win of the season by pitching 5.1 innings and allowing just two runs. Alex Colome was able to secure his 24th save of the season despite allowing a run in the ninth.
Twins stunned in opener
Minnesota was shocked at home last night, suffering a 2-run loss to the White Sox. The Twins are 76-49 on the season, 36-27 at home and 63-54 with the over. Minnesota has Michael Pineda getting the start this evening. He is 8-5 on the season with a 4.20 ERA.
The Twins stranded 10 runners on base Monday night, as they had 15 hits in the game but produced just four runs. Jorge Polanco had his 18th home run and drove in a pair of runs to lead the way. Eddie Rosario added three hits and a RBI. On the mound, Kyle Gibson gave up five earned runs over 6.2 innings. He fell to 11-6 on the year.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox have won four of their last five division games, but are just 16-40 in their last 56 Tuesday games.
Minnesota
The Twins are just 1-6 in their last seven home games, but 36-16 in their last 52 games following a loss.
Prediction:
Pineda has been pitching pretty well for the Twins over the last couple months, dropping his ERA by nearly a full run. In two starts against the White Sox, he has a 2-0 record with a 2.08 ERA. Lopez has been somewhat hit-and-miss this year, but also has been dropping his ERA over the last month. However, he was lit up for eight runs in his only outing against the Twins and has a 5.57 ERA on the road this year. I expect the Twins to bounce back tonight. Chicago isn’t an easy out, but the Twins still have the better talent at the plate and on the mound.
MLB Prediction: Minnesota Twins -205
