Chris Sale gave up three runs over seven innings while striking out eight in Chicago’s 4-3 win over Oakland on Monday. Jose Quintana will look to duplicate that success tonight although he was touched up in his final spring start of the season, surrendering nine hits while allowing four runs over three innings.

The A’s will counter with Chris Bassitt, who allowed four runs on eight hits and issued a walk over 5 1/3 innings against the Giants on March 21. The 27-year-old showed plenty of improvement last season and should hold his own today against his former team.
