Indians hot
The Indians are coming off an 8-0 win over the Orioles on Sunday for their seventh win in eight games. Cleveland is 71-52 overall and 32-28 on the road. The Tribe are putting up 5.11 runs per game on offense while allowing 3.98 per contest.
The Indians give the ball to their ace today, Corey Kluber. He is making his 26th start of the season tonight and he has a 15-6 record with a 2.68 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP. Kluber has 160 strikeouts and 22 walks over 168.0 innings of work.
Red Sox fall, but still rolling
The Red Sox are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Rays on Sunday, but they have won seven of their last nine coming in. Boston is now 88-37 overall and 44-16 at home. The Red Sox are putting up 5.42 runs per game this year while giving up 3.69 per contest.
Rick Porcello gets the start for the Red Sox tonight. He is making his 26th start of the year. Porcello comes in 15-5 overall with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. Porcello has 150 strikeouts and 36 walks over 151.2 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians are 20-7 in their last 27 Monday games and 12-2 in their last 14 road games against a right-handed starter.
Boston
The Red Sox have won 21 of their last 26 series openers and eight of Porcello’s last 10 starts.
Prediction:
This game is about the starters, as both are capable to get deep into a game. Kluber has been a little more consistent of the two. Porcello has been kind of hot-and-cold lately. While Boston has the better hitters, Kluber has been on track lately, allowing one run or less in three of his last four starts. He also has gone at least seven full innings in his last four starts. I think he bests Porcello and leads Cleveland to the win.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -110
