Indians split with Yankees
Cleveland has already spent the last four games in New York, splitting a four-game weekend series with the Yankees. The Indians are 74-51 on the season 35-25 on the road and 67-54 with the under. Cleveland has Shane Bieber on the mound today. He is 12-5 on the season with a 3.27 ERA.
The Indians are one of the better pitching staffs on the year. Cleveland has a 3.71 team ERA and a 1.21 team WHIP. At the plate, the Tribe are averaging 4.76 runs per game while batting .252 as a team. Carlos Santana is leading the team with 23 doubles, 29 home runs and 78 RBI while Jose Ramirez has 32 doubles, 20 home runs, 74 RBI and 24 stolen bases.
Mets trying to heat up
After a short skid, the Mets have won three of their last four games thanks to a series win over the Royals in KC. New York is 64-60 on the season, 34-21 at home and 61-50 with the over. The Mets have Steven Matz taking the mound tonight. He is 7-7 on the year with a 4.33 ERA.
New York ranks in the top half of the league in hitting and pitching. The Mets have a 4.40 team ERA with a 1.34 team WHIP on the mound. At the plate, New York is averaging 4.85 runs per game while batting .258. Pete Alonso is leading the team with 25 doubles, 40 home runs and 95 RBI while Michael Conforto has 20 doubles, 26 home runs and 73 RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians are 7-1 in their last eight interleague road games and 16-5 in their last 21 road games overall.
New York
The Mets are 10-1 in their last 11 home games and 7-1 in their last eight interleague games.
Prediction:
Bieber has been steady for the Tribe, giving up two runs in each of his last four starts while going at least seven innings. He has actually been better on the road, posting a 2.77 ERA with an 8-2 record. Matz has been pretty good as well, but he doesn’t get nearly as deep into games. However, he has a 5-0 record at home with a 2.14 ERA. With two great pitchers going, I still like Bieber better as he has done it more consistently. Cleveland has improved its hitting over time and I think the Tribe will manufacture some runs.
MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -155
