Yankees hottest in MLB
Following a third-straight win over the Astros on Thursday, the Yankees have now won 12 of their last 13 games. New York is now 21-10 overall and 11-5 at home. The Yankees are averaging 5.74 runs per game this year while allowing 3.97 per contest.
C.C. Sabathia gets the start for the Yankees tonight. He is 2-0 through five starts and has a 1.71 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP. Over his last three starts, he has allowed just one total earned run. Sabathia has 16 strikeouts and five walks through 26.1 innings.
Indians hot at the plate
Cleveland had struggled most of the season at the plate, but they have scored at least 11 in three straight games and at least six in five straight. The Tribe are 17-14 overall and 6-6 on the road. Cleveland now averages 4.65 runs per game while giving up 4.26 per contest.
Josh Tomlin gets the start for the Indians today. He has four starts this year and is 0-4. Tomlin carries a 9.16 ERA and a 1.93 WHIP through 18.2 innings of work. He has 10 strikeouts with four walks.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have lost 11 of their last 15 when Tomlin starts a series opener and his last four starts against a winning record.
New York
The Yankees have won 13 of their last 16 against AL Central opponents and they have won 16 of Sabathia’s last 21 home starts.
Prediction:
The Yankees are just rolling along right now. They have found a perfect balance of pitching and hitting. Sabathia has looked as good as he has in a long time and now gets to face the Indians, a team that has struggled with consistency. I don’t see Tomlin being able to correct his issues at New York against that lineup.
The Pick: New York Yankees -200
