Indians put up 10 runs again
After losing the opening game of this series on Monday, the Cleveland Indians have scored 10 runs in each of the last two nights to give themselves a chance to take the series today. The Indians are 39-34 on the season, 19-17 on the road and 41-30 with the under. The Tribe have Shane Bieber on the mound today. He is 6-2 on the season with a 3.92 ERA.
The Indians continued to come through in big moments on Wednesday, as they had 10 runs on 12 hits and stranded just four runners to get the victory. Things started quickly with a five-run first inning. Jason Kipnis hit two home runs and drove in four to lead Cleveland in the victory while Jordan Luplow had two hits and three RBI. On the mound, Adam Plutko lasted just 4.1 innings in his start, giving up two earned runs with five strikeouts. Oliver Perez got the win in relief with a perfect 1.2 innings.
Rangers beat up again
Texas has given up 20 runs over the last two nights to put themselves in position to lose a four-game home series. The Rangers are now 39-35 on the season, 25-14 at home and 38-35 with the over. Texas has Mike Minor getting the start today. He is 6-4 on the season with a 2.63 ERA.
The Rangers didn’t stand much of a chance, as the pitching got lit up quickly and the hitters ended up stranding 10 batters on Wednesday night. Joe Palumbo pitched just two innings in his start, giving up seven runs on six hits with three walks and only one strikeout. At the plate, Asdrubal Cabrera had a double and a home run while driving in two to lead the Rangers. Danny Santana also homered in the loss.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won six straight games against a left-handed starter and 20 of their last 29 Game 4’s of a series.
Texas
The Rangers are just 6-20 in their last 26 Game 4’s of a series and 0-5 in Minor’s last five home starts against a team with a winning record.
Prediction:
Texas hasn’t had much pitching to rely on the last two nights, but Minor has been one of their stronger arms. His worst outings are usually just three runs over 5-6 innings, which keeps Texas in each game. His best outings have been no runs with a lot of strikeouts. Bieber has been competitive most of the year, but has more potential for a letdown. I also think Cleveland’s averages at the plate are set to catch up with them. They aren’t a team that is going to score 10 runs often and they have done it back-to-back games. They are due for a big letdown today.
MLB Prediction: Texas Rangers +115
