Chicago Cubs DFS Notes
Adbert Alzolay was not involved in the decision on Saturday after allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over five frames as the Cubs defeated the Diamondbacks 4-2. Alzolay worked in his new cutter during the contest but only generated a 14 percent CSW on the offering and no swinging strikeouts. Perhaps in time, this new weapon will help the 26-year-old go deeper into games, but it is a work in progress for now. Alzolay is carrying a 4.59 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 82 1/3 innings this season but will look to add another win to his resume when he takes on the Cardinals next week on the road.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS Notes
Kwang-Hyun Kim delivered an outstanding performance on Saturday, firing six scoreless innings against the Giants. The left-hander scattered three hits and a pair of walks while recording only one strikeout in the ballgame. All three of the hits that he allowed were singles. Kim generated just six swings and misses in the game and posted a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll carry a sparkling 2.87 ERA and 1.23 WHIP into Thursday’s battle against the Cubs.
