Cubs vs. Cardinals Prediction
Despite the Cubs retaining their two key pieces offensively at the trade deadline, the Cardinals still took care of business as a home favorite on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. Is St. Louis the play again tonight at 7:45 p.m. ET versus Chicago?

Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Willson Contreras and Ian Happ were not traded by the Cubs ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. This comes as a shock, Contreras especially. Presumably the Cubs will make him a qualifying offer this winter and collect a draft pick when he departs via free agency. Happ is under control through 2023 and figures to be shopped over the offseason.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Paul Goldschmidt homered and drove in three runs Tuesday versus the Cubs. Goldschmidt got the scoring going with a two-out, two-RBI single in the third inning before adding a solo home run — his 25th of the season — in the fifth. He also added a walk. The National League MVP frontrunner is sitting on a .332/.412/.611 batting line.
Cubs vs. Cardinals MLB BETTING PREDICTION
The Cubs are now just 1-4 in their last five road games, are 0-5 in their last five games after allowing five runs or more in their previous game and are 20-60 in their last 80 games when facing a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. On the other side, the Cardinals are 4-1 in their last five games overall, are 5-1 in their last six home games versus a team with a losing record and are 6-2 in their last eight home games.
