Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Franmil Reyes went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs as the Cubs fell to the Cardinals on Saturday evening in St. Louis. Reyes opened the scoring in the ballgame with a run-scoring single off of Adam Wainwright in the top half of the first. He also added an RBI single in the fifth that pulled them to within four runs at 8-4, but that would be as close as they would get. Reyes has seemingly found new life since landing with the Cubs and is now hitting .277 (26-for-94) with four homers and 13 RBI in 24 games with his new squad.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a stolen base on Saturday night, leading the Cardinals to an 8-4 victory over the visiting Cubs. The leading candidate to take home National League MVP honors, Goldschmidt clubbed a 375-foot two-run shot off of left-hander Drew Smyly to get the Cardinals on the board in the home half of the first inning. He then singled, executed a double steal with Nolan Arenado and came around to score on Yadier Molina’s three-run double as the Cardinals hung a six-spot in the third inning. He’s now slashing a ridiculous .331/.418/.618 on the season with 34 homers, 107 RBI and six stolen bases. His batting average and RBI total both pace the National League at the moment, while he trails Kyle Schwarber by two home runs.
