Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Nick Madrigal (groin) went 1-for-3 with an RBI and also scored a run on Thursday in his minor league rehab assignment debut for Triple-A Iowa. Madrigal has been on the shelf since mid-June due to a left groin strain. The 25-year-old speedster, who had just one steal in 115 plate appearances this season, will likely require an extended rehab assignment before returning to the Cubs’ lineup later this month.
Los Angeles Dodgers DFS SPIN
Mookie Betts launched a pair of solo homers on Thursday, powering the Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Cubs. Betts walloped a leadoff homer to left field off Cubs’ righty Mark Leiter Jr. to open the contest. The 29-year-old fantasy superstar, who was also hit by a pitch on the left hand/wrist area in the fifth inning, but managed to remain in the contest, capped off the multi-homer performance with a solo shot against reliever Michael Rucker in the eighth inning. It was his third multi-homer effort of the 2022 campaign. He’s gone deep three times in five games since returning from a rib injury last weekend and is now up to 20 round-trippers in 297 plate appearances.
