Chicago Cubs DFS SPIN
Miguel Amaya hit his fourth homer of the year and walked Sunday as the Cubs edged the Royals 4-3. It didn’t seem like Amaya’s eighth-inning homer, which bumped the Cubs’ lead from two runs to three, would be a big deal, but the Cubs ended up needing the extra cushion. The Cubs just moved on from Tucker Barnhart in a show of faith in Amaya. The 24-year-old will continue to play behind Yan Gomes for the rest of this year, but he looks like a future starter behind the plate.
Detroit Tigers DFS SPIN
Spencer Torkelson homered in the Tigers win over the Guardians on Sunday. The Spencer Torkelson power breakout continues with ten home runs in 35 games in the second half of the season. He’s also added 23 RBI and 21 runs scored over that span while his strikeout rate continues to hover around a solid 24 percent. Unfortunately, he plays in a pitcher’s park which has kept his BABIP down a bit, and the lineup around him is not all that solid, which is exactly why he has seven home runs and just nine RBI so far in August.

Cubs vs. Tigers MLB BETTING PREDICTION
Assad has made three starts over the past month and owns a 1-0 record with a 2.70 ERA and 4.65 FIP across 16 2/3 innings. As for Faedo, he’s 0-0 with a 2.79 ERA and 4.92 FIP in his two appearances (9 2/3 innings) over the past month. The Cubs have been one of the better offenses this month, posting a 118 wRC+ since August 1, while the Tigers have been slightly above average at 104. In the battle of the pens, the Tigers have been better of late, posting a 3.67 ERA and a 3.90 FIP compared to the Cubs’ marks of 4.27 (ERA) and 4.62 (FIP). While the Detroit should be an underdog based on the pitching matchup, I think this is a more even game than oddsmakers are suggesting. Give me the Tigers.
