David Wright set to return on Monday, Mets favored to beat Phillies

Wright to return to Mets’ lineup on Monday

PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – David Wright is set to return to the Mets’ lineup on Monday when they visit the Phillies at 7:05PM ET.

A serious back injury has limited Wright to only eight games this season but he’s set to return to the first-place Mets tonight. The third baseman played six innings on Saturday afternoon at High-A St. Lucie and went 9-for-28 (.321) with five walks and six strikeouts during his rehab assignment.

While he’s not expected to play every day right away, Wright would be a huge boost to a New York offense that is 23rd in runs, 30th in batting average, 26th in on base percentage and 27th in slugging percentage. It’s been the Mets’ pitching that has them knocking on the door of a NL East Division title but anything positive they receive from Wright will be a benefit.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Mets are -210 money line favorites for tonight’s game versus the Phillies. Jacob deGrom will face Adam Morgan in the pitching matchup.
