Tigers vs. Astros Prediction
The Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros open up a weekend series tonight at 8:10PM ET. Will the runs be hard to come by today?
The Tigers have Mike Pelfrey on the mound to face Dallas Keuchel of the Astros. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Houston is the heavy favorite today, as the Astros are getting odds of -175 to win, while the Tigers are getting a money line of +160 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 8.5 runs.
Detroit is 6-2 on the season, 4-0 on the road and 7-1 with the over. Houston is 3-7 overall, 1-3 at home and 6-3 with the over. These two haven’t met yet this season, but the Astros won four of their last five against the Tigers.

Keuchel has always been a strong pitcher at home, and he has a 3.55 ERA over his first two starts of the season. However, he faces a Detroit lineup that has an AL-best 49 runs scored. The Tigers send Mike Pelfrey to the mound today and he struggled mightily in his first start and Detroit can’t expect much better tonight on the road. The Tigers have hit the over in five straight and we think they will do it for a sixth time today.
