Victor Reyes helped pace the Tigers offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored. Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Gordon Beckham was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Spencer Turnbull took the loss as he allowed five earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks over three innings. Daniel Norris starts tonight for Detroit as he comes in with a 3-10 record, 4.82 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 105 strikeouts over 123 1/3 innings pitched.
Altuve powers Astros
Houston picked up a 6-3 victory over visiting Detroit Tuesday night to improve to 81-46 overall and 45-15 at home. Jose Altuve led the Astros offense as he ended the contest 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Martin Maldonado was 1-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs. George Springer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk. Yordan Alvarez did not record an official at-bat as he was walked all four plate appearances. Brad Peacock recorded the win in relief as he gave up one hit with three strikeouts and one walk over 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. Roberto Osuna threw a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout for his 29th save. Verlander draws the start tonight for Houston as he comes in with a 15-4 record, 2.81 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with 228 strikeouts over 169 2/3 innings of work.

I think this has to be the biggest moneyline gap I’ve ever seen for an MLB game. My memory isn’t always the greatest, but I can’t remember seeing anything wider than this. Even the runline bet has big juice. Even so, it’s the only bet I’m considering here. Despite Carlos Correa heading to the injured list, the Astros have an array of power hitters who mash lefties. And Verlander is Verlander, plus the added motivation of facing his former team. Take the Astros on the runline.
