Tigers end skid
The Tigers ended their four-game losing streak on Saturday with a 7-5 win over the Twins. Detroit has scored 19 runs over the three games in this series. Detroit is now 51-73 overall and 19-43 on the road. The Tigers are putting up 3.87 runs per game this season while allowing 4.71 runs per contest.
Jacob Turner will get the start for the Tigers on Sunday. He is making just his second start for the team. His debut saw him give up seven runs, five earned, in just one inning of work against the Angels. His ERA in 2018 is 20.25 over 6.2 innings of work between the Tigers and Marlins.
Twins end win streak
The Twins saw their four-game win streak come to an end in their 7-5 loss to the Tigers on Saturday. The Twins have hit well in this series as well, putting up 20 runs in three games. Minnesota is now 58-64 overall and 37-25 at home. The Twins are putting up 4.50 runs per contest while allowing 4.68 per game.
Jake Odorizzi gets the start for the Twins on Sunday. He is making his 26th start of the year and he has a 5-7 record with a 4.44 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. Odorizzi has 129 strikeouts and 51 walks over 125.2 innings on the mound.
MLB Betting Trends
Detroit
The Tigers have lost four of their last five against AL Central opponents and they have lost 18 of their last 26 Sunday games.
Minnesota
The Twins have won 12 of their last 14 home games against a team with a losing record. They are also 21-8 in their last 29 home games.
Prediction:
Jacob Turner has been awful on the mound this year. I can’t see him somehow fixing all his issues for his start today. Expect some runs early for the Twins. The Detroit bullpen isn’t solid either, so an early deficit will be hard for the Tigers to make up. Detroit has hit the ball well in this series, but that goes against what the season numbers say for the Tigers.
The Pick: Minnesota Twins -205
