Los Angeles Dodgers DFS SPIN
Will Smith hit a two-run homer Monday as the Dodgers edged the Marlins 3-2 in 10 innings. Smith was named to Team USA in the World Baseball Classic earlier this afternoon, so it was quite a day for him. His .826 OPS this year is tops among regular catchers, just ahead of Alejandro Kirk and Willson Contreras. He’s also first with 75 RBI and second with 19 homers, one behind Contreras.
New York Mets DFS SPIN
According to Michael Mayer of Metsmerized, the early indications are that top prospect Francisco Álvarez may require surgery on his injured right ankle. The 20-year-old backstop is on the cusp of breaking through to the big leagues, but had to be evaluated in New York this weekend after experiencing continued soreness in his right ankle. If he requires surgery, that would obviously end his 2022 season. Álvarez has hit .247/.359/.500 with 24 homers and 68 RBI in 99 games between Double-A Binghampton and Triple-A Syracuse this season.
