Walker Buehler allowed two runs on six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings in a 3-2 win over the Mets on Friday. Buehler was excellent on Friday, holding the Mets to two runs over 7 2/3 innings to pick up his 13th win of the season. He gave up the first run to the Mets in the fourth inning on a leadoff homer by Pete Alonso. Alonso would plate the second run with a single off Buehler in the eighth. The 27-year-old right-hander tossed 73-of-107 pitches for strikes and induced 17 whiffs to strike out eight on the day. The Cy Young candidate carries a 2.11 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 170 strikeouts over 162 1/3 innings into his next start against the Padres in San Diego next week.
San Diego Padres DFS Notes
Blake Snell allowed three runs on two hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Phillies on Friday. All three runs against Snell would cross the plate with two outs in the third inning. He walked Jean Segura, who stole second base before J.T. Realmuto drove him in with a double. Bryce Harper followed with a two-run homer to right field to make it 3-0. The 28-year-old left-hander tossed 59-of-92 pitches for strikes and induced 15 whiffs to strike out nine batters. Snell will take a 4.82 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 139 strikeouts over 106 1/3 innings into his next start against the Dodgers in San Diego next week.
Padres vs. Nationals MLB Betting Prediction
