San Francisco Giants DFS SPIN
Mike Yastrzemski was removed from Sunday’s battle against the Padres in Mexico City due to a left hamstring strain. He suffered the injury while attempting to make a diving catch in the eighth inning on Matt Carpenter’s go-ahead two-run double. The severity of that strain is not yet known — nor is it clear how much time Yastrzemski may stand to miss. Be sure to check his status prior to Monday’s series opener against the Astros in Houston. Fantasy managers in weekly formats may want to have a contingency option in place in case Yastrzemski is forced to miss some time.
Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Jake Meyers clobbered his second home run of the season on Sunday night, powering the Astros to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Phillies. Meyers took Phillies’ southpaw Bailey Falter deep in the fourth inning of this one, with his 407-foot (104.8 mph EV) blast increasing the Astros’ lead to 3-1. It would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but played a key role in the victory. On the season, the 26-year-old is now hitting .265/.324/.397 with a pair of homers and eight RBI. He has seen increased run in center field with Chas McCormick (back) sidelined, but it’s unclear how that playing time will by split up once McCormick returns next week.
