San Francisco Giants DFS SPIN
Mitch Haniger was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals after being hit on the forearm by a pitch during the third inning. Haniger was plunked by an 88.8 mph sinker that came up and in from Cardinals’ right-hander Jack Flaherty. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to see if he suffered any fractures. Casey Schmitt came on to run for him and replaced him in the Giants’ lineup on Tuesday night. Haniger had been 0-for-1 with a strikeout prior to exiting.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Jordan Montgomery tossed six scoreless innings with six strikeouts on Friday in a win over the Reds. Montgomery was excellent on Friday, keeping the Reds off the board over six frames. He scattered only three hits and walked one batter while striking out six batters on 14 whiffs. The 30-year-old left-hander has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last three starts, lowing her ERA to 3.88 with a 1.33 WHIP and 66 strikeouts over 72 innings. He’s set for a matchup against the Giants in St. Louis on Wednesday.
