Wednesday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – One of the oldest rivalries in baseball will be renewed tonight when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Dodgers –130 money line favorites over the Giants, who are +122 on the ML. Tonight’s game is set for 10:10PM ET and the over/under total is currently sitting at 6.5 runs.
The Giants come into this game after dropping their last two in Colorado on Monday and Tuesday. They held late leads in both games, but Tim Lincecum gave up a long ball to Carlos Gonzalez to ruin a potential win on Monday and the bullpen got rocked in a 5-3 defeat on Tuesday.
The Dodgers are scuffling themselves, losing three of their last four games coming into Wednesday’s action. They did beat the Brewers 3-0 on Tuesday Hiroki Kuroda’s gem. He struck out seven while allowing no runs and scattering six hits over 7.2 innings of work.
MLB Free Pick: The Giants are really struggling offensively right now due to injuries to Pablo Sandoval (wrist) and more recently, Freddy Sanchez (knee). Hitting Mike Fontenot, Mark DeRosa and Miguel Tejada in the same lineup won’t exactly keep opposing pitchers up at night, especially not ace Clayton Kershaw. According to latest MLB trends, the Dodgers are 5-2 in Kershaw’s last seven starts versus the Giants and he threw an absolute gem against them on opening night back in April. The Giants are 4-0 in Matt Cain’s last four starts versus the Dodgers, but their bullpen has been rocky over the past couple of days so if it gets deep into the game tonight, I have more confidence that L.A.’s bats will come through at home than I do in San Fran’s feeble offense on the road. Who knows, maybe former Giant Juan Uribe will come up with a big blast to win it for his new club – take the Dodgers and lay the juice.
