Two teams that ended the first half on a sour note will meet for a weekend series at PNC Park on Friday night. Will the Pirates pull off a small upset against the Giants at 7:05 p.m. ET tonight or is there a better bet on the board?

San Francisco Giants DFS SPIN
J.D. Davis blasted a solo homer on Sunday, leading the Giants to a 1-0 victory over the Rockies. Davis took southpaw Kyle Freeland deep to center field in the fourth inning for his 11th long ball of the season. It was his first round-tripper since June 17, snapping a 19-game home run drought in the process, and wound up being the lone tally for either side in a low-scoring first-half finale.
Pittsburgh Pirates DFS SPIN
Ji-Man Choi blasted a go-ahead two-run home run on Sunday, powering the Pirates to a 3-2 victory over the Diamondbacks in Arizona. The 32-year-old slugger got the Pirates on the board with his 427-foot (104.6 mph EV) two-run shot off of Diamondbacks’ right-hander Zach Davies in the second inning. He also doubled in the ninth inning, finishing the day 2-for-4. He wraps up the first half hitting a disappointing .159/.159/.409 with three homers and four RBI in his first 44 at-bats on the season.

Giants vs. Pirates MLB BETTING PREDICTION
Rich Hill ended the first half on a rough note, allowing five runs over four innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks. He started the season fine, but has since posted an underwhelming 4.78 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 91/39 strikeout-to-walk ratio across his 98 innings (18 starts). Meanwhile, Ross Stripling did a nice job as the Giants’ opener against the Mets earlier this month but has otherwise stunk. His ERA sits at 6.51 and he’s mostly been battered around this season. I see tonight’s matchup turning relatively high-scoring.
