Astros end win streak
The Astros saw their 7-game win streak come to an end last night in a 6-5 loss at Boston. Houston is now 89-54 overall and 49-22 on the road. The Astros are putting up 4.97 runs per game on offense while allowing 3.30 runs per contest.

Tigers’ streak ends as well

MLB Betting Trends
Houston
The Astros have won seven of their last eight games against a left-handed starter and four of their last five after a loss.
Detroit
The Tigers are just 9-19 in their last 28 series openers and 4-10 in Liriano’s last 14 starts.
Prediction:
There’s really no value in betting on the Astros tonight straight up. That line is just far too great. The Tigers certainly are a longshot on paper, but there is reason to believe that they can pull off the win at home. Detroit has been a much better team at home and Verlander actually gave up six runs to the Tigers in just six innings back on July 15. Verlander has seen his ERA go up more than half a run in the last month. He’s not quite been the lockdown pitcher he was earlier this year.
The Pick: Detroit Tigers +300
