Royals drop fourth straight
Kansas City has lost four straight following a 4-2 loss on Saturday to Cleveland. The Royals have scored just five runs total over their last four games. The Royals are 45-85 on the season, 21-46 on the road and 63-61 with the under. Eric Skoglund gets the start for KC today. He is making his 2019 season debut.
The Royals managed just six hits in Saturday’s loss. Meibrys Viloria had two hits and a RBI to lead the Royals while Jorge Soler drove in his 89th RBI of the year. Glenn Sparkman took the loss on Saturday, giving up four runs over 4.1 innings. He is now 3-9 on the year. The KC pen actually threw 3.2 innings of 1-hit ball.
Indians look for sweep
Cleveland has won the first two games in this series by scores of 4-1 and 4-2. The Tribe are now 76-54 overall, 41-26 at home and 71-55 with the under. Cleveland has Shane Bieber getting the start this afternoon. He is 12-6 on the year with a 3.26 ERA.
Mike Clevinger had another good start for Cleveland, throwing 5.2 innings and allowing just one run on four hits with eight strikeouts. He improved to 9-2 with the victory. Brad Hand recorded his 31st save as well. Franmil Reyes homered and drove in three of the four runs for Cleveland while Mike Freeman had two hits and a RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Kansas City
KC is 17-35 in its last 52 Sunday games and 36-84 in its last 120 road games.
Cleveland
The Indians have won nine of their last 10 Sunday games and 16-6 in their last 22 home games.
Prediction:
Skoglund hasn’t pitched this year and he was 1-6 last season with a 5.14 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Bieber has been pretty steady right now, going at least six innings in five straight starts while allowing two earned runs in each start. He is 5-2 in day starts with a 2.61 ERA. The Royals haven’t had much hitting to rely on right now, so I don’t expect things to go well against Bieber and for Cleveland to get another lopsided win.
MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -1.5 (-155)
