Angels vs. White Sox Prediction
After winning two straight the White Sox are back in first place in the AL Central and will attempt to win their series versus the Angels today at 2:10PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the White Sox are -117 money line favorites over the Angels, who have odds of +107 to pull off what would be a small upset today in Chicago. With Jered Weaver set to face John Danks in the pitching matchup, the total currently sits at 9 runs.
Bet Today’s Angels vs. White Sox Game
Today will be only Weaver’s third start of the season. He’s 1-0 on the year with a 4.35 ERA and has allowed five runs on 14 hits over 10.1 innings of work. The numbers don’t provide an optimistic outlook for Weaver pitching well today. For starters, his FIP is 6.07 and his xFIP is 6.02, so his ERA should be a tad higher than what it is and his K/9 is 4.35, which is dreadful. His LOB% (86.4) figures to come down soon as more runners start crossing home plate.

Like Weaver, Danks has been roughed up in his first two starts. He’s allowed 12 runs on 14 hits through 11.1 innings of work and while his .343 BABIP indicates that he’s been unlucky, his 7.94 ERA is nasty and his 4.65 FIP and 4.88 xFIP are rough as well. Danks’ biggest problem to date? He’s walking batters at a 3.18 clip and is inducing very little ground balls (32.4%).
OUR PREDICTION: There figures to be plenty of hitters that reach base today with these two on the mound. The over is 5-1-1 in Danks’ last seven starts and is 6-1 in his last seven outings versus a team with a losing record. The ove ris also 10-3 in Weaver’s last 13 road starts against a team with a winning record and is 4-1 in his last five starts versus a team with a winning record.
