LA Dodgers Prop Odds
(The Spread) – The Los Angeles Dodgers have filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection and now you can wager on how much they’ll be sold for.
In April of this year, commissioner Bud Selig announced that Major League Baseball would be appointing a representative to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Dodgers. Selig, and rightfully so, had concerns about the way owner Frank McCourt and the Dodgers were being operated, especially from a financial standpoint.
McCourt and members of the Dodgers’ front office vehemently disputed Selig and MLB’s actions, but the commissioner went ahead and appointed former diplomat and former Texas Rangers executive Tom Schieffer to oversee L.A.’s finances. Then, as previously stated, on June 27 the Dodgers filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have released prop odds for the Dodgers’ fiasco, including how much they’ll be sold for. A wager on “1 Billion or more” is –120 on the money line, as is a wager on “Under 1 Billion or more.”
Bettors can also wager on whether or not they believe Mark Cuban will purchase the team. A wager on “Yes” is +300 on the money line so if the Dallas Mavericks owner does wind up purchasing the club, it could be a nice coup for bettors.
That said, Cuban has been unsuccessful in his bid to buy baseball teams in the past. In 2007, he tried purchasing the Cubs but was denied, and despite outbidding Nolan Ryan in August of last year, he was unsuccessful in his attempt to purchase the Texas Rangers as well. There are many who believe the “Good ol’ boys” in Major League Baseball won’t allow Cuban to buy a team.
How much will the LA Dodgers be sold for?
1 Billon or more –120
Under 1 Billion –120
Will Mark Cuban purchase the LA Dodgers
Yes +300
