Acuna Jr. socks grand slam
Leadoff hitter Ronald Acuna Jr. helped spark Atlanta to the Game 2 victory as he hit a second inning grand slam to spark the hosts to a 5-0 lead en route to a 6-5 victory. He went 1-for-3 with the grand slam plus a walk in the win. Freddie Freeman finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Toukki Toussaint earned the win as he gave up one hit and walked two in one scoreless inning of relief. Arodys Vizcaino allowed one hit with three strikeouts and a walk to pick up the save.
Dodgers homer twice in defeat
Chris Taylor finished 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs from the leadoff spot in yesterday’s loss to Atlanta. Justin Turner finished 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Max Muncy was 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk. Alex Wood suffered the loss as he gave up one earned run on one hit in one-third of an inning.
Rich Hill (11-5, 3.66 ERA) will start today for the Dodgers, while the Braves counter with Mike Foltynewicz (13-10, 2.85).
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 27-11 in their last 37 games overall. Los Angeles is 6-2 in Hill’s last eight road starts.
Atlanta
The Braves are 8-2 in their last 10 Monday games. The over is 7-2 in the last nine Atlanta home games.
Prediction:
This matchup was one-sided in Los Angeles, but as the Braves showed one swing of the bat could flip the script. Foltynewicz struggled in Game 1, but now has the nerves of a playoff start out of the way and has the comfort of being at home. I believe he bounces back. Look for Acuna Jr. again to notch a big hit and help lead the Braves to another win to send it back to LA for a decisive Game 5.
