Dodgers vs. Braves Prediction
After pulling off a big upset last night, the Braves will go for two-in-a-row tonight versus Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers at 7:10PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dodgers are -130 money line favorites versus the Braves, who have odds of +120 to pull off the upset at home. With Ross Stripling set to face Julio Teheran in the pitching matchup, the over/under is sitting at 8 runs for tonight’s game.
Bet Tonight’s Dodgers vs. Braves Game
Stripling has been fantastic through his first two Major League starts, albeit with plenty of batted-ball luck. He’s 0-0 despite reaching the eighth and sixth inning, respectively, in his first two starts. His FIP is an outstanding 2.84, although his xFIP of 4.08 could be a warning sign for trouble ahead. His BABIP is .147, which is sure to come up in his next few starts. The fact that he’s only striking out 6.08 per nine and walking 3.38 per nine could be an indication that he’s due for a dud.
Teheran hasn’t been unlucky, he’s just been bad. His ERA is 6.35 and his FIP isn’t much better at 5.89. He’s walking batters at a 4.24 rate and he’s allowing 2.12 HR/9 while giving up an alarming 18.2% for HR/FB. Simply put, hitters are elevating plenty of his pitches and he’s not stranding many runners either (61.9%).

OUR PREDICTION: The Dodgers could be a nice bet to bounce back but the total offers more value sitting at only 8. If Teheran continues to pitch as poorly as he has and Stripling is due for a little less luck, then the combined score should sail over the total tonight. The over is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams and is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings in Atlanta.
WEDNESDAY MLB PREDICTION: DODGERS/BRAVES OVER 8
