Musgrove threw five innings in Tuesday’s game against the Mariners, allowing two runs on five hits while walking three and striking out two en route to a no-decision. He got through the first five innings of the game while allowing just one run but the sixth was an issue for Musgrove. He loaded the bases, then Michael Felix managed to escape the jam with just on run, but it took Musgrove out of contention for the win. Granted, closer Ken Giles blew the game in the ninth anyway.
Miranda didn’t factor into the decision last Thursday when he gave up two earned runs on five hits in five innings versus the Astros. He struck out four while walking three. Miranda didn’t have great command but the only big mistakes he made was serving up a pair of solo home runs to George Springer and Marwin Gonzalez, respectively.
