Seattle Mariners DFS Notes
Diego Castillo earned his 15th save of the season, working a scoreless ninth inning with a walk and a strikeout in Tuesday’s 4-2 win over the Rays. Castillo fired off a scoreless ninth inning against his former team, albeit one which was not completely clean. That walk to Ji-Man Choi came with two outs in the frame, though, and never evolved into any kind of run-scoring threat. The 27-year-old Castillo is now 15-of-17 in save chances while pitching to a 2.82 ERA and 50/11 K/BB ratio in 40 appearances. The vast bulk of those appearances came with the Rays prior to Castillo being traded over prior to last week’s deadline.
Tampa Bay Rays DFS Notes
Austin Meadows went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners. Not much doing, here, for the Rays’ offense. The team’s lone extra-base hit on the evening came in the form of a Randy Arozarena solo homer in the first inning. All downhill from there. Meadows and Arozarena were the only Rays batters to pick up multiple hits in the game. Overall this season, Meadows is slashing .245/.332/.476 with 20 home runs and 76 RBI across 100 games played. He is in the midst of his second career season of at least 20 home runs.
