Harvey says he’ll pitch in the playoffs
In a statement released through the player’s tribune, Matt Harvey announced Sunday that he will pitch in the postseason if the Mets reach the playoffs.
“I will pitch in the playoffs,” Harvey stated. “I will be healthy, active and ready to go.”
Harvey also noted that he, his doctors, Mets GM Sandy Alderson and the entire organization are all on the same page and that they’ll work together to decide whether or not he’ll have an innings limit during the regular season. A day before, Harvey created a small media firestorm when he said he’s always considered 180 innings to be his limit for this year and wouldn’t answer questions about pitching in the postseason.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Mets are 8/1 to win the 2015 World Series. They’re currently four games up on the Nationals in the NL East heading into Monday’s action.
