New York Mets DFS SPIN
An MRI on Jeff McNeil’s right hamstring didn’t show anything “worrisome,” per Mets manager Buck Showalter. McNeil was removed from Monday afternoon’s series finale against the Marlins due to hamstring tightness, and that remains the diagnosis after a round of imaging scans. It sounds like the Mets will wait a few days and then reevaluate whether an IL stint might be necessary. Consider him day-to-day for the time being.
Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Luis Garcia fanned nine while limiting the Rangers to two runs — one earned — over six frames in the Astros’ 9-2 win Wednesday. The Astros handed Garcia plenty of wiggle room before he even took the mound when they scored six runs in the top of the first inning. He didn’t need nearly that much, though, as the Rangers scored one run on an error and another on a Corey Seager solo homer. Garcia collected a season-high 19 swinging strikes on 92 pitches and tied a season high with nine punchouts. He also threw an immaculate inning in the second against Nathaniel Lowe, Ezequiel Duran and Brad Miller before reliever Phil Maton did the same thing in the seventh versus the same three hitters. Seriously. Garcia will take on the Mets next week.
