Anderson lifts Marlins to win

Brian Anderson hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday afternoon to send Miami to a 4-3 home win over San Diego. Anderson ended the game 2-for-5 with the double and the RBI. Neil Walker finished 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI to pace the Marlins offense. Harold Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Sergio Romo picked up the win in relief as he struck out two in a perfect inning of work. Zac Gallen draws the start tonight for Miami as he enters with an 0-1 record, 4.24 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 21 strikeouts over 17 innings.

Dodgers fall in finale

Los Angeles gave up four runs in the seventh inning Thursday in a 7-6 loss at Philadelphia in the series finale. Enrique Hernandez led the Dodgers offensively as he went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs. Matt Beaty finished 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and three runs scored. Alex Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run plus a walk. Dylan Floro suffered the loss as he allowed one earned run on one hit with one strikeout and no walks in one-third of an inning. Hyun-Jin Ryu will start tonight for Los Angeles as he comes in with a 10-2 record, 1.78 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with 105 strikeouts over 116 innings of work.
