Marlins vs. Nationals Prediction
The Washington Nationals put 18 runs on the board last night as they trounced the visiting Miami Marlins. After such a huge offensive outburst, will the bats cool down enough to lead to an under in today’s series finale?

Reynolds has career night
Nationals first baseman Mark Reynolds, one night after a walk-off home run, went 5-for-5 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in an 18-4 home rout over Miami Saturday evening. Reynolds also had a double in the victory. Trea Turner finished 1-for-4 with a walk and three runs. Juan Soto was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Anthony Rendon went 1-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Bryce Harper finished 3-for-3 with a walk and scored four runs. Pedro Severino finished 1-for-5 and drove in three. Max Scherzer secured the win as he gave up four earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks over seven innings of work.
Marlins hit three homers in loss
Miami tied the score at 2-2 in the fourth inning at the Nats on Saturday before falling apart and giving up a total of 16 runs the next four innings. Starlin Castro, J.T. Realmuto and Yadiel Rivera all hit solo home runs in the defeat. Castro also drew a walk. J.T. Riddle was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run. Wei-Yin Chen suffered the loss as he surrendered seven earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks over 4 1/3 innings.
Trevor Richards (2-5, 5.26 ERA) will start today for Florida, while Washington counters with Tanner Roark (3-10, 4.60).
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 1-7 in their last eight Sunday games. The over is 8-2 in the last 10 Miami road games.
Washington
The Nationals are 21-6 in the last 27 meetings. Washington is 7-15 in its last 22 games.
Prediction:
While the Washington offense is red-hot, it has a tendency to be streaky. Richards is still finding himself as an MLB pitcher, but has shown promise at times. Roark has been dismal the last couple months and was downright awful in his last start, but he has shown enough in the last few seasons to give you faith he can figure out his issues. With most people probably trending toward the over, I’m looking at this getaway game as a chance for bats to cool down again.
