Marlins to snag second straight from Brewers?
The last time Adam Conley faced Milwaukee, he was denied a chance to join baseball’s pitching immortals. What can Miami’s lefty do for an encore?
Those in attendance at Marlins Park will find out beginning at 7:10 p.m. ET, when the two squads square off in the second of a three-game set. Oddsmakers at online sports book Bovada.lv are partial to the host club, while the Brewers enter as +145 underdogs. The over/under total is set at 8.5 runs.

Back on April 29, manager Don Mattingly lifted Conley following 7 2/3 innings of no-hit brilliance. Casual observers decried the move, but Miami brass organization pointed to the former second-round draft pick’s elevated pitch count of 116. Clearly, though, Conley matches up well against the Brewers – in addition to apparently everyone else. Opponents are batting .200 vs. the 25-year-old, who boasts 34 strikeouts in 32 2/3 frames.
On the other side, Zach Davies has experienced a decidedly tougher 2016 so far. The righty’s ERA stood at 8.78 through three assignments, but he did manage to limit the Angels to two runs across six innings last week. Davies also earned his first MLB triumph on Sept. 7 in Miami, holding the Fish to a single run.

He’s unlikely to net the same results today. The Marlins have won 12 of their past 15. They’ve gone 7-3 against the Brew Crew since the beginning of last season, too, and Milwaukee’s lineup continues to do nothing but flounder more and more. Side with the NL East representatives here.
